Privacy
What this website and the Everyday Writer app collect, and where your text goes.
Last updated October 25, 2026.
The app
- Your API key is stored in Windows Credential Manager on your computer.
- To read your selection, the app copies it. Afterwards it puts your clipboard back the way it was.
- Only two things leave your computer: the rewrite request, sent to the AI provider you chose, and a once-a-day update check with GitHub.
- The update check sends nothing about you or your text. You can turn it off in Settings > Updates.
- Windows clipboard history (Win + V) may still show text you rewrite, because the app you copied from adds it there.
- There’s no account, and the app has no server of its own. It doesn’t collect analytics.
Your provider handles the text you send under its own privacy policy. If you use Ollama on your own computer, the text stays on it.
This website
- It counts visits with Umami, which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t collect personal data. It records things like the page, the referring site, the browser and the country.
- It’s hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs.
- Fonts and images are served from this site. Nothing loads from other font or ad networks.
